Therapy for pregnancy and postpartum mental health

Pregnancy and Postpartum Mental Health Support is so important. 1 in 5 moms and 1 in 10 dads will develop postpartum symptoms. Postpartum Depression, Anxiety, OCD, Bipolar Disorders, and (rarely) Psychosis happen. Learn more about therapy for pregnancy and postpartum care with Brittany below, or send an email to Brittany today to start therapy.

Mindfulness

Using Mindfulness, clients learn skills to better manage feelings and racing thoughts in the moment. Recommended for anxiety, depression, OCD, and bipolar.

DBT

Learn skills through Dialectal Behavior Therapy, or DBT to manage difficult emotions. Recommended for anxiety, depression, OCD, and bipolar

CBT

Most parents are going to have some racing or difficult thoughts-intrusive thoughts. We will work together to understand yours and use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy-CBT skills to challenge those difficult thoughts.

Finding Supports

Being a new parent is a whole new world! Finding the right supports for you and your family are key. We will talk about finding communication skills to connect with those around us and finding new supports. Find a free virtual support group through Postpartum Support International here

Assessments and information

Assessing mental health symptoms is recommended at least once during pregnancy, and then every 3 months postpartum until 18 months postpartum. We will also go through risk factors that put someone at risk and symptoms to keep an eye on.

Holistic Care

We will frequently talk about the importance of finding small ways to focus on nutrition, body movement, quality sleep, and self-care.
